Best Energy Bars 2021 – Fuel Your Day

This is the ultimate guide to the BEST energy bars 2021.

Energy bars provide you with the boost you need to get through that brutal night class, that dead end 9-5, and even your post work workout. They can be beneficial for anyone who is constantly on the go, never has time to make food or simply someone who wants a delicious snack.

Energy bars tend to be rich in high quality ingredients like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and fibers. These ingredients help to keep you full and focused on the activities ahead, but sadly, not all energy bars possess these high quality characteristics.

In this article, we are going to look at the best energy bars of 2021. With there being so many, I decided to do all the research so that you don’t have to! (You can thank me later)

Before we get the best energy bars of 2021, let’s talk about what makes an energy bar “the best”.

What Makes an Energy Bar “The Best”

Ingredients: First things first, any good energy bar will provide you with carbohydrates, proteins and fats, the three vital macronutrients you need to stay healthy and improve your level of fitness. A good energy bar will have mostly carbohydrates, the main energy source for the body, but should also provide you with some protein, about 5-10 grams, and a little bit of fat.

A good bar will also be full of fiber, whole grains and other organic ingredients that keep you full and satisfied between meals. This keeps the munchies on the down low.

Value: Some “high-end” energy bars tend to make quite a dent in your bank account especially when you buy them individually. You’re going to want to look for energy bars that come in packs of 12-24 and don’t cost you an arm and a leg to get them. Anything less than $2 per bar is what you should look for.

Taste: Obviously, taste will be at the top of the list for a lot of you looking for a great energy bar. As much as you would eat an energy bar for its benefits, I’m sure you are also looking for something that will satisfy your taste buds just as much. So don’t worry, I made sure to put extra emphasis on taste while researching these energy bars!

So without further ado, keep reading for the best energy bars of 2021.

The Best Energy Bars of 2021

The Cliff Energy Bar

  • Calories – 263
  • Carbohydrates – 43 grams
  • Protein – 10 grams
  • Fat – 6 grams
  • Price – $1.18 per bar ($18.91 for 16)

The #1 energy bar on my list is the Cliff bar. Not only is the Cliff brand highly regarded in the fitness industry, but their energy bars are by far one of the tastiest and most nutritious out there.

These bars are rich in plenty of healthy, high quality ingredients like organic rolled oats, organic cinnamon, and oleic sunflower oil.

Not only does the cliff bar contain plenty of carbs, but most of these carbs are simple carbs. Simple carbs can be broken down quickly and easily by the body for quick energy and will give you a GREAT pump in the gym if you eat one around 15 minutes before a workout.

As promised, I made sure these bars are not only nutritious but tasty as well. In fact, there are close to 20 flavors of cliff bars that you could choose from including peanut butter banana, white chocolate macadamia nut, and chocolate brownie.

Overall, the cliff bar is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for some high quality energy and a delicious snack. There are 17 grams of sugar, which isn’t a lot, but could be looked at as a potential downside for some of you.

P.S. if you find yourself needing an extra boost, cliff also offers energy bars with caffeine!!

The Power Crunch Bar

  • Calories – 220
  • Carbohydrates – 11 grams
  • Protein – 14 grams
  • Fat – 13 grams
  • Price – $1.50 per bar ($17.99 for 12)

Another energy bar that is highly rated in 2021 is the power crunch bar. This bar is particularly good at providing you with extra protein and could be considered a mix between a protein bar and an energy bar.

One of the best attributes of the power crunch bar is the abundance of flavors. Unlike most energy bars, this bar comes is labeled as a wafer cookie and almost tastes like it should be a dessert rather than a healthy snack!

Some flavor options include salted caramel, peanut butter crème, red velvet, and peanut butter fudge.

Overall, the power crunch bar is a great choice for an in-between meal snack and provides you with the much-needed protein and energy for any workout. If you are looking for a good energy bar in 2021, I highly recommend the power crunch bar. (I recommend the red velvet flavor).

The Kind Energy Bar

  • Calories – 200
  • Carbohydrates – 16 grams
  • Protein – 10 grams
  • Fat – 14 grams
  • Price – Only $2.50 per bar ($14.99 for 6)

If you enjoy a healthy and organic snack, the kind bar could be for you. This bar is pretty low on sugar (only 5 grams), very rich in fiber and contains similar ingredients to the cliff bar but I’d argue it is more natural.

The kind bar contains mixed nuts such as almonds, peanuts, and walnuts, chicory root fiber, honey, palm oil, and crisp rice. In addition, it is also gluten-free and non-GMO.

Kind bars are very tasty and healthy but sadly do not offer an abundance of flavors like some other top rated energy bars on this list. But what the kind bar does offer is OPTIONS.

The kind bar has different bars for all kinds of uses including kid bars, whole fruit bars, protein bars, and breakfast bars. Overall a great energy bar for anyone!

The RXBAR

  • Calories – 210
  • Carbohydrates – 23 grams
  • Protein – 12 grams
  • Fat – 9 grams
  • Price – $1.57 per bar ($18.89 for 12)

The Rxbar is another snack that offers a mixture between a protein bar and an energy bar. Coming in 9 different flavors, it is definitely a go-to energy bar for a lot of people in 2021.

Some most enjoyed flavors of the rxbar include peanut butter, chocolate sea salt, mint chocolate, and apple cinnamon. You can also enjoy some of their unique flavors like coconut chocolate, coffee chocolate, and pumpkin spice. The ingredients are quite simple and yet nutritious including dates, egg whites and a variety of different nuts.

One of my favorite things about the rxbar is that they clearly label the ingredient on the FRONT of the packaging and even state that there is “no B.S.” to assure you that what you are eating is top-notch.

There are no added sugars and a large amount of fiber and potassium which are essential for the body and can help improve digestive and brain health.

The primary selling point for the rxbar is the fact that they are made with whole food ingredients. Their whole food guarantee means that their bars do not contain any preservatives or added ingredients that are not natural. They are also gluten-free paleo-free AND Kosher. If you want an energy bar that accommodates for a lot of different needs and diets, the rxbar could be for you!

  • Carbohydrates – 25 grams
  • Protein – 4 grams
  • Fat – 9 grams
  • Price – $1.56 per bar ($24.99 for 16)

Last but not least for the best energy bars of 2021, I give you the larabar.

The larabar is another great choice for anyone with diet restrictions as it is gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, kosher and non-GMO.

Larabar is dedicated to giving its customers an all natural and organic energy bar that leaves them feeling full and satisfied throughout the day. These bars contain no artificial sweeteners, plenty of fruits, vegetables, sources of fiber, and a variety of nuts.

As far as taste goes, these bars offer 8 different flavors including apple pie, blueberry muffin and cashew cookie (sorry for anyone with a tree nut allergy, these bars are probably not for you).

The larabar is a great choice for anyone who is conscious about the quality of food they put in their body. I would say the only downside is its sugar content as it contains about 18 grams of sugar per bar.

Overall, a great choice for an energy bar in 2021. Click here to check it out for yourself!

Final Thoughts on the Best Energy Bars 2021

There was a number of energy bars that could have made it into the top five energy bars of 2021. It is important to note, however, that the cliff energy bar, power crunch bar, rxbar, kind energy bar, and larabar are well above their competition.

With their high quality ingredients, macronutrient ratios, low prices and Delicious flavors, these bars all have what it takes to be your go to energy bar in 2021.

Depending on what you have scheduled for the day and your personal preferences, each of the 5 energy bars listed could prove to be very beneficial to your lifestyle.

For example, if you have to workout and need a pre-workout snack, I recommend the power crunch bar or the rxbar because of their high protein contents. If you’re half-way through the work day and hit a wall after lunch, I would recommend the cliff bar or the larabar due to their high carbohydrate content.

Some energy bars are high in protein while others are high in carbs and fats. It is up to you to choose the right one that both satisfies your needs AND your taste buds. Making the right choice on which energy bar to go with will definitely determine its effectiveness and its ability to positively influence your day.

  1. Instead of having snacks I like to use energy bars. I had heard good things about the Kind Energy Bar but I haven’t tried it yet. Now that I see you mention it here on your post, I would really like to have a few of them. I am impressed how affordable they are. We can get up to 6 for just $14.99.

    • Ann,

Thank you for your comment! Energy bars are definitely a great snack and a way better choice than most other bars. I definitely recommend you try out the kind bar because it could prove to be perfect for you and like you said, it won’t put a dent in your wallet!

  2. I love granola bars, cereal bars, and all other types of alternatives like these for breakfast.  Too often I find myself in a jam and need to grab some grub or else I get too hungry and sick.  With protein bars I can easily just plan on grabbing one from the pantry and taking it with me.  Sometimes I get sick if I eat cereal prior to driving into work in the morning.  So I have stopped that altogether and stick with my protein bars.  I never heard of the RxBars so I’ll have to give them a try.  Thanks for providing such great detail on each of them.  Very insightful.
